letter to napa

In 2012 I decided to take the road less traveled and left a corporate job in finance in NYC and moved to Napa to get into hospitality. After about 2 years, I decided again to switch it all up, and I left for Egypt with a backpack and a plane ticket. Over 7 months I traveled and spent meaningful time getting lost in Cairo, Istanbul, Jerusalem, Kathmandu, Bhutan, Delhi, Bangkok and SaigonI. I stayed in hostels and homes, with no itinerary, no agenda, just a time to wander and explore

From this trip, the idea for Heritage was born. I wanted to connect cultures through food because on my travels I realized that we all share much more than we differ.

We’re recommitting our original idea. We’re taking things back to where we started. A joyful restaurant that serves its community '
dailylife food from around the world, because in this world that so often tries to pull us apart, we want to be a place that helps bring us back together.

Our journey home

To say Heritage Eats has been an amazing journey is an understatement. It literally began on an adventure!

After traveling the world in 2014, we were inspired by the homes, families, and meals that welcomed us across different countries—rice bowls, bao buns, local spices, and street food with soul. That adventure sparked an idea: to bring those global flavors together under one roof, right here in Napa.

In 2015, Heritage Eats was born. And as Wine Country warmly welcomed us into the community, we started blending the flavors we’d gathered abroad with the ones that reminded us of home—burgers, tacos, and of course, our now-infamous DiRtY fries. What came out was something familiar yet unexpected: comfort food with a global twist.

Then came 2020—and the world changed. Like so many small businesses, we hit a serious road bump. But thanks to you—our Napa family—we didn’t stop. We pivoted, we hustled, and we made sure our food could make it to your home, even if you couldn’t come to ours.

Since then, our journey hasn’t just been about food—it’s been about family. We’ve grown as a team and as a family (literally!), and in 2025 we gave Heritage a new look—a full remodel designed to feel warm, welcoming, and lived in. Just like the homes that inspired us in the first place.

Today, Heritage is more than a place to eat. It’s a place to gather. A neighborhood spot where kids can be kids, the game’s on in the background, and there’s always something good on the table. Whether you’re coming in for a quick bite or settling in for dinner with friends, we want you to feel like you’re right at home.

From our travels to yours, from our family to your table—thank you for being part of the journey. We’re just getting started.
